Exclusive Peek at the Harbor Casino Project!

The city of Gulfport was always beautiful. It was a place where tourist’s flocked at every opportunity to enjoy the beaches, the wonderful restaurants, and of course, outdoor sports and gaming. The city enjoyed great prosperity and was known as a premiere destination for vacationers and business people – Everyone wanted to be here, and when they came, they never wanted to leave. When hurricane Katrina arrived with all her fury in 2005, everything changed in the blink of an eye and we had to begin again. Every inch of our prized coastal real estate was decimated. It has been a long, arduous road and taken many years to rebuild and restore this area but Gulfport is well on it’s way to being even more extraordinary than it was before. (more…)

It started as a dare during WWII, a fearless officer took an AT-6 Texan training aircraft into the eye of a hurricane. The proud heritage of the Hurricane Hunters goes back over 50 years. The B-17 Flying Fortress was the most often requested aircraft for weather reconnaissance in WWII. In 1945 the first full squadron intentionally flew directly into an active hurricane. It was then that the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron became the Hurricane Hunters. (more…)

Outside of Ireland, where can you find Shamrock Chops, O’Horsy Burgers, $2 well drinks and $3 pints of draught beer? The Gulf Coast has many restaurants and clubs but Irish Coast Pub is a different kind of place to relax. Located in the heart of downtown Gulfport, Irish Coast is in the spot that used to house Watson’s Piano Bar. The new owners have opened up the once low lit venue and now it is bright and sunny, warm and welcoming. (more…)

Nancy’s Celebrity Chat with BELLO NOCK

I spoke with this remarkable man just hours before he walked across a highwire above the 32 story Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi. He is Bello Nock, comedic daredevil and international circus star who headlines Fata Morgana, the Cirque-Style Extravaganza being performed this summer at the Beau from June 26 through August 19. Bello holds the distinction of completing the first ever high wire walk across a cruise ship at sea and was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records for this accomplishment. He has also been deemed, “America’s Best Clown” by TIME magazine. When I interviewed Bello, he was the epitome of calm, cool and collected – not a care in the world, eager and ready to make history on the Gulf Coast with his death defying stunt high atop the magnificent Beau Rivage. Bello looks like no one else with his wonderful “mile-high” blonde hair and his beautiful, big smile that lights up a room. He is charming, funny and a joy to be around. (more…)

I was asked to write a series of articles to assist in guiding teenagers through one the roughest periods of time in their lives, also known as the dreaded teenage years. My experience in working with approximately 3,000 teens weekly during the past 16 years I’m sure this will bring a fresh view in coaching teens through these deep water days.
I’m sure most everyone has heard of the news about the adult bus monitor, Karen Klein, that was bullied by 4 seventh graders. A video captured the bullying of a 68 year old grandmother and quickly became a rallying point against bullies. (more…)
