DISABLED VETERANS JOB FAIR

The 2012 “People with Disabilities/Disabled Veterans Job Fair” is scheduled for Thursday, October 4th at the new Biloxi Civic Center located 578 Howard Avenue in Biloxi from 10:00am-2:00pm. The event is in observance of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. This year’s theme is “A Strong Workforce is an Inclusive Workforce: What Can YOU Do?” The theme highlights the benefits of a diverse workforce that includes workers with disabilities. The Resource & Job Fair is designed to identify employment opportunities and community resources that can assist those seeking employment. Special guests include Veterans and individuals with disabilities, but anyone seeking employment is invited to attend. Businesses with employment opportunities and nonprofit agencies with assistance are encouraged to register. Participating organizations include WIN Job Center; Gulf Coast Human Resource Association; MS Dept of Rehabilitation; MS Gulf Coast Community College; Disability Rights; U.S. Dept of Labor; Veterans Administration Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System; and additional Education, Disability, Veteran, & Employment specialists. This public event is hosted by Disability Connection with support from the Walmart Foundation, Wells Fargo Bank, and additional community supporters. Disability Connection is a coast nonprofit corporation that hosts numerous community events and develops special projects for people with disabilities. Disability Connection supports a diverse range of persons with disabilities through events, resources, advocacy, information and referral, and peer support.
