Skeeter’s Bar and Grill in Gulfport

Skeeters_Option_4 new r 1Skeeter’s Bar and Grill in Gulfport has a shiny new look and new menu items to make your mouth water! New owners, Vernon Wilson and Jennifer Mullins took over the 10,500 sq ft building only a few months ago and already the place has been upgraded to a sparkling clean neighborhood friendly place where the guests are greeted with warmth, professionalism and style.
All the things you loved about the old Skeeter’s are still in place but with a visibly updated look. The famous Wheel Burger and patty melt are still available but the owners have added thin cut rib eye steak sandwiches, unbelievably delicious hotdogs, a hangover burger topped with a fried egg and daily lunch specials that will make you think you’re back in grandma’s kitchen on Sunday.
Also try the big chef salad with one of Skeeter’s homemade dressings. It’s a great way to treat yourself without blowing your healthy eating plans. Skeeter’s seating capacity is approximately 178.
The kitchen hours have been extended on late night shifts and all sandwiches come with fries or chips so you’ll never leave hungry. Kids under 21 are allowed to eat, play pool and take advantage of the dart boards and video games before the late night crowd arrives.
Keep a check on their Facebook page for specials, online menus, and announcements. Happy hour is 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday with different specials each day. Our favorite has to be Mondays with a bucket of domestic draft and 20 wings for only $20. Then again, Tuesdays the draft beers flow ALL DAY for half price! Wednesdays offer well drinks for $2 off and Thursdays you can get $2 domestic longnecks during happy hour. For those who love deals on food, Fridays means half price appetizers from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The bar has 22 beers on tap and that includes some of your favorite craft flavors and IPA’s. The 20 TV’s will also keep you entertained with sports and local news while you play on one of the 21 pool tables or 7 regulation dart boards. Leagues are forming now and will begin play in January. Smoking is permitted at Skeeter’s but not during lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. so guests may enjoy a smoke-free dining experience.
Rates for pool and darts have changed too. Now, you can play for just $5 per hour whether its day or night and Skeeter’s offers 7 coin operated pool tables for you to enjoy. The retail shop sells pool and dart supplies. If you don’t see something you need, just ask one of the hands-on owners and they will try their best to get it for you.
The next step in upgrades for the bar is to install electrical outlets available to guests so you will be able to charge your electronic devices while you sit back and enjoy the atmosphere.
The private party room can be reserved for $50 on weekdays and $100 on weekends. Once in the private room, you can hook up your phone or laptop to play your own music for your special occasion. The room sports new chairs and tables and seats up to 60 people.
There is more great news for ladies! The bar now sports purse hooks at the bar and on all high top tables. This is a luxury that we all know makes us feel safer. And speaking of safety, the parking lot has been upgraded with LOTS of lighting.
Skeeter’s is located at 197 Teagarden Road just south of the tracks. They are open 11 a.m. until midnight Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. Hours are extended on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 a.m. Call Vernon or Jennifer and their staff for any questions at 228-897-1234.
